For all you RSS readers out there, you probably didn’t notice the new animated gif in the sidebar with the Sugarbutch Chronicles swag prominently displayed.
Get I ♥ femmes, I ♥ butches, and the Sugarbutch Chronicles logo on mugs, hats, tee-shirts, sweatshirts, undies … all sorts. There’s also a few shirts that have “sugar” on the front and “butch” on the back (I like those).
And, of course, there’s some Sugarbutch Star merch as well … including some little one-inch buttons with a star, those are perhaps my favorites. I ordered some for the Sugarbutch Star contest finalists, and I custom-made a shirt for the winner, too. I’m planning to do another contest starting in August.
I’ve got some plans for a few more slogans I want to put up, too, but haven’t finished the designs yet. If you have particular requests, let me know and I’ll consider it!
Couple more things:
I updated the Community page; if you run a blog about sex, gender, or relationships, or queer politics, or gender activism, or if you comment often here, and I am not listing you, please do let me know and I’ll add your link. I don’t keep up with that list very frequently, mostly I’m using the Google RSS reader to share new and interesting sites and articles from around the web (that’s over in the left-hand sidebar).
Someone left a comment recently looking for a tux for a girl in New York City. Cookie writes:
My lady and I are getting married at the end of next year and I’m having an awfully hard time finding a tux to wear. I’m a curvy girl that would like a tux cut for a woman that will fit those curves. Do you know of any queer-friendly places in NYC to buy/have one made?
Any suggestions?
hehe, i *just* noticed the swag, and was trying to decide where to leave a random comment about how freaking awesome it is when you posted this
i love that you have dog shirts in the mix…i really need to get my pup an "i <3 butches" shirt (i think it's an 'alpha' thing, but he so does love the butch girls…maybe he's just channeling me ;)
I bought a great man's tuxedo shirt in extra small at Jack Silver's, at Broadway and 57th street. It's a small shop, but very well-appointed, with an exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. They even threw in free cufflinks and button studs. Also, they had sleeve garters, which I haven't been able to find anywhere else. I don't know if they have whole tuxedos in my size (I'm 5'3", 130 lbs), but I wouldn't be surprised if they did. It's worth checking them out.
I would love to be listed and would of course reciprocate :)
I would love to be listed as well.
try SYMS for a tux. my butch curvy partner got a great one there. look for a "stout" style top as it accommodates a curvier figure better without making you look like you're wearing an oversized box.
they do free alterations on the pants. not the best customer service but doesn't give butches a hard time.
Thanks for the linkage, although I find it a lil' funny that I am in your "Steamy Sexblog" pile. I clearly need more steam.
Can I make a swag request? (I don't know if that's actually possible.) I love those sugar/front butch/back shirts as well, but also don't wear men's tshirts often. Any chance that particular logo could appear on a women's tank top? But don't let me open the request floodgates if that's not something you're prepared for.
Lookin' good.
[Great request! I didn't realize I had left out the "girly"-cut shirts from the sugar/butch design. I added the tank top & the cap sleeve tee. I couldn't add the spaghetti strap tank top though because that one can't be printed on the back. Thanks for asking! – ss]
Can I make another swag suggestion/request? Since you (and I guess, your readers) mess with the gender thing as often as you conform, what about some similar designs with something like "surfing the gender galaxy" (but better…but some kind of gender galaxy reference?)
