I’ve been putting off this review because just about as soon as I received this double panel compression shirt, New York City started that little heat wave called SUMMER, and I have barely worn it since. In fact, while I’ve been working at home the last few days I’ve been topless, and when the time comes to go out in an actual shirt I can barely stand the fabric of a tank top on my skin, so there’s NO WAY I would wear this right now.
But I would gladly wear it, in general. I didn’t connect that it’d be 60-80 degrees while I was just visiting the Pacific Northwest, or I would’ve definitely brought it on that trip. There were a few times I wished I had.
I bought a compression shirt a few years back, the same brand—which seems from my knowledge to be the most famous and common brand—and while I thought I was getting the right size, I could not get it on. It did not fit.
So it is still basically brand new, in a box, where it’s been since I got it.
Would you like to have it? It’s size M, black. Leave a comment about one fun thing you’ve done this summer (or something else, just leave a comment) and I’ll pick one comment at random and mail it to you—if you’re in the US I’ll pay postage, if you’re outside of the US you pay postage. I’ll pick a winner on Tuesday, August 9.
This new one, though, I ordered a bit too large, in size XL, and it fits.
It helps tremendously with button down shirts and vests and flattening out my torso in general. I find it hard to breathe in, just a little, which is also why it’s been hard to wear in the last few months, because I’ve been thinking about and witnessing lots of things related to breathing and breath. I have to be a bit strategic about wearing it; I wouldn’t want to put it on for a hike or even a day when I was doing a whole lot of walking around New York City. I can definitely tell when I eat a large meal while wearing it, too.
I am pretty large chested—usually I wear a 34DD, though lately it’s been a 36DD—so I didn’t know if I could wear one of these at all. Glad to discover that it turns out, I can.
And you can bet I’ll be wearing it frequently once it cools down a bit more.
This summer I worked with sheep and traveled, but I think the most fun thing I did was start going by a chosen name.
I’ve done three awesome things this summer!
1. Move to an awesome new house in San Francisco!
2. Built a dining room table!
3. Took a writing workshop class!
Phew! It’s been a great summer!
Hi there,
This is not a entry for the giveaway (too small), but it is a question. This looks like something my butch partner would really like in her size. What I can’t figure out is, if you purchase this in your size and you are someone with large breasts — does this cover the breasts completely or does the shirt still show the top of your breasts? Either way, I’m sure it’s fine under a button down–but I’ve been searching for something that covers the butch rack completely (cause cleavage isn’t what she’s going for). thanks!
Sorry, one more non-entry question– this post reminded me I wanted to buy her the frog bra you had mentioned before and apparently it’s been discontinued… Do you or any of your readers know of a place that still sells them or of something with a different name that achieves the same effect? thank you thank you!
I’d love to win this for my adorable girlfriend! Hope you are doing well!!!

this IS an entry for the giveaway! this summer…my partner and i managed to survive that awful heat wave by camping out in my bedroom (thank god for window units) for the better part of 4 days… of course we had plenty to do =)
one fun thing i’ve done this summer: started a tumblr with binder reviews and advice for the ftm community. if I win this, I’ll most likely review it and then regift it to somebody needier in the community.
this summer…my partner and i managed to survive that awful heat wave by camping out in my bedroom for the better part of 4 days (thank god for window units). of course, we had plentyyy to do!
a fun thing i’ve done this summer was play in two naked coed rugby games! Scrums were kinda smelly, but still loads of fun
Fun thing I’ve done this summer is actually coming up this weekend, where I’ll be blasting through one of my soft limits. I’ll be in the caring hands of my Daddy, and I’m excited and anxious as all get-out. This whole summer has been a time of deepening the bond between Daddy and I, which in my book certainly counts as fun.
Leaving comment just because I have a friend who would really like to have this…he can’t afford a binder or anything yet.
earlier this summer i went up to a family cabin in the vermont mountains with my sweetheart and we drank an entire bottle of whiskey in the bathtub. that was definitely fun.
This summer I got to visit home and enjoy some nice cool weather instead of the regular 110 I deal with here in AZ.
fun thing i’ve done this summer: wearing a skirt and fagging out for a night. pick me! pick me!
This summer I reconnected with the femme of my dreams. Known her for years, spent some time apart, now it’s for keeps.
I know it’s still early, but I’m already saving up for a move to NY and a ring.
one fun thing i’ve done this summer is make ice cream! helped get through that heat wave!
This falls more in the “terribly hard work” than “fun” category, but I finally got the pay-off of all my years in school, I an now officially a Registered Nurse.
Also, thanks for posting the recent Crash Pad link–I literally gasped with joy when I saw a fisting photo in the teaser material. So beautiful.
Fun thing: last weekend my friend and I drove to the beach in the middle of the night and went swimming and ate cheese fries! Life is good. Hoping for the binder :)
I’m in Italy now to visit family; I think that’s supposed to qualify as fun… And I’m moving on my own up to Los Angeles for university as soon as I get back to the States; I think that’s supposed to be fun too. Neither are fun.
The biggest thing I’ve done this summer, by far, is I’ve come out to myself and my girlfriend as genderqueer, and it’s the scariest and most liberating thing ever.
This summer I’ve had fun embracing my vintage femme by buying cheap dresses from consignment stores! My lovely queer boyfriend would totally love this, so I’m leaving a comment :).
I have a friend who would love this. This summer I discovered the most incredible beach which looks out onto open ocean. The waves are incredible (for Maine) and the water turns the most amazing clear colors. It’s barely even cold, and it’s shallow for so long that I can just walk through the waves.
This summer I’ve made some guy friends and realized how much I’ve missed having guys around.
This summer I’ve re-discovered how fabulous me-time can be!
I know a young person for whom this would make a big difference…
Yesterday I went to an aquarium to see a giant squid (it was dead, clearly). That was kind of fun.
a fun thing I did this summer was take my friend and I in our packing and bearded glory to our first trans and dyke march, halifax.
I hope it gets cooler down there!
i’m a river guide, and the most fun thing i’ve done this summer (so far) was one of my weekend trips: the first day the water was running higher than i’ve seen it, but i ran super clean lines and my customers had a blast; and on the second day i ran a rapid i’d never run before and had a perfect line, then later in the day i nearly wrapped my boat on a rock, called two high-sides back to back so the boat didn’t flip, kept my customers from falling out, and ran good lines for the rest of the day. :-) everyone was stoked on the weekend, and it was definitely one of the most fun and adrenaline pumping adventures i’ve had in a while!
I’d love one of these. Over summer, I worked backstage as a stagehand for our community theatre performance of “The Sound of Music.”
Fun thing I did this summer: Went to Ireland and connected with my family roots. I hiked up to a beautiful waterfall, walked in the ruins of the cathedral where my ancestors once worshipped, and was called “sir” a by kindly old Irish gentleman I met in a shop.
I’m kind of lazy. A little selfish. But the most awesome thing I’ve done this summer was checking out a Steely Dan concert. Man, they’ve still got it.
Fun thing: WA renfaire with friends, and staying the night in a cabin on the Sound.
The best thing I’ll do this summer hasn’t happened yet, but I know it will be the week I spend volunteering at a special needs camp in NH. My whole family goes every year and its always the best week of my life.
This summer I picked fresh figs at sunset and ate most of them on they way home!
Great site! We’re just back from two weeks in Colorado. Great mountains, and lots of hot tubs.
It’s winter here… but of course, I will be doing fun things over summer…
This summer, the gf and i save a kitty.
She founded her in the bushes at the place where she goes for her Roller Derby practice, and the Kitty had a broken femur. So we raised money (600$ ) from our friends, to pay for the operation. and now Taz is doing just find, running fast in the house and playing with the other cats at home.
most fun thing this summer? making music with my friends, making tortillas from scratch, seeing how far i can push the gender envelope in every direction….
a hot new romance…
Most fun summer event so far had to be going to the Como Zoo in the Twin Cities with my boi and little cousins. We had a great time seeing all of the animals and watching the way that little kids look at the whole sight.
This may be topped by a weekend of bar hoping and going to six flags next weekend to celebrate my birthday. While little kids time is fun big kids time is always fun too.
This summer I have lusted after (and then sparingly bought) cocks, harnesses, restraint systems, and other toys…
I met the best group of friends a kid could ask for this summer. I’ve been spending weeks at a time with them, delving into debauchery, getting to know them more personally than I’d ever imagined, and even coming out to them as being more than just queer. Also, I just started binding, I’m in the process of choosing a new name for myself, I had a threesome with two of my most attractive friends, and I got my nipples pierced. It’s been an eventful summer indeed. :D
Ha! I remember sweating like crazy when we met at Oil Can Harrys during SxSW in Austin.
I have a hard time wearing vests, my 40DD get in the way.
I’ve done several fun things this summer…
1. Went to my first play party
2. Started going by my chosen name
3. Fallen in love again w/ the woman i want to spend my life with
this summer I helped my girlfriend work on a farm and made friends with a grouchy little cat named smoky. :)
I learned Chinese this summer, no foolin’. :D I can now speak smoothly (if not fluently) with half my family! This is big.
Unfortunately out here in language school I’ve had to give in to the heteronorm; it’s really hard to respond to ‘but you’re OBVIOUSLY a girl, right!?’ in a new language.
It hasn’t happened yet, but this summer I’ll be volunteering at a local theatre festival! It’s easily the best part of my year.
This summer I chose to work on an awesome farm with older queer ladies that tell me great stories. And my girlfriend and I went to Amsterdam earlier this summer.
My fun thing is I baked cinnamon-raisin bagels the other day and they turned out super well! I’m excited to make more.
Visiting San Francisco with my partner definitely topped my fun things of the summer!
